Tourism Malaysia launched its VM2020 Campaign for the Philippines market. Within Asia, the Philippines is now one of the top source markets for tourists.
Additionally, VM2020 promises a long line up of cultural themed events, family fun activities, and shopping festivals. Recently, a delegation of 18 Malaysian travel trade and industry players, along with travel agents hotels product owners, and airlines, visited Malaysia.
TOURISM MALAYSIA EFFORTS IN THE PHILIPPINES
Tourism Malaysia also encouraged tour operators to develop and sell holiday packages with a focus on niche products. These niche products include luxury travel, shopping, and sports.
They also carried out a discussion with the travel trade associations in Philippines. These included the Philippines Travel Agents Association (PTAA); National Association of Independent Travel Agents (NAITAS); and The Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA).
PHILIPPINE TOURISTS IN MALAYSIA
Tourism Malaysia’s promotional efforts in the Philippines is expected to increase the number of Philippine visitors to Malaysia. It aims to promote greater awareness of Malaysia as an ideal holiday destination.
At the same time, it seeks to foster greater cooperation between tour operators and members of the tourism fraternity. This is in line with the country’s efforts to boost arrivals from the Philippines.
Tourism Malaysia hopes to have as many as 510,650 Philippines travelers visiting Malaysia in 2020.
