Travelife to beautiful Cape Town, February 21 to March 1, 2015

It's no secret that South Africa is one of our favourite destinations in our never-ending Travelife, ever since we first set foot in it sometime back for a two-week teaser of a trip.

A TRIP THAT STILL MAKES ME SMILE

One of our favourite desserts on the trip.
At one of South Africa's best restaurants, living a Travelife...

We'd done a weekend in Johannesburg, and then an amazing safari in two locations at the Sabi Sabi Game Reserve (chosen the best safari experience for 2013, by the way). And then we rented a car for a week of driving around Cape Town.

For that one week in Cape Town, it was just us and our rental car exploring the Western Cape -- and wasn't that so nice. No drivers, no guides, no bodyguards, no other people.

It was such a wonderful trip, and even now, remembering it still makes me smile.

COUNTLESS TIMES BACK

Since then, I've been back countless times that I'm starting to feel like a local. And still I can't get enough of this lovely country.

In fact, as I write this, I'm looking through my schedule for an opportunity to visit the Garden Route and possibly do another safari.

WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT
SOUTH AFRICA

South Africa has everything, so you just have to choose which area you want to focus on and what season you wish to go.

For instance, our last Travelife to South Africa was in May with readers and friends, and we only did Johannesburg, Pilansberg National Park and the Northern Cape.

This is pretty much untrodden territory, and everyone loved it.

In the adventure-filled Northern Cape last May,

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE WEATHER

Some people asked me why we didn't include Cape Town on our trip to South Africa last May. The answer is simple.

Cape Town in May is very rainy and wet, in contrast to the glorious weather of the north. No one wants to travel in the rain if they can help it, and especially not on a Travelife.

So we decided to visit the beautiful northern part of South Africa on this trip instead.
