From Tokyo on Friday night, we took the bullet train to Kyoto and then Kobe on a mini break to western Japan to enjoy the sakura of the Kansai region and eat some good local food.

RIDING THE NOZOMI BULLET TRAIN
OF JAPAN. AND ABOUT A FANTASTIC DINNER
BY MICHELIN-STAR CHEF DANI GARCIA
Then Sunday night I was back on the Nozomi bullet train from Kobe on a three-hour ride back to Tokyo, literally to pick up my luggage.
Watching Paris at Midnight onboard Japan Airlines
By yesterday morning I was at Narita Airport, this time to catch the Japan Airlines (JAL) flight to Manila to make it for the first gastronomic evening of Michelin two-star chef Dani Garcia of Marbella.
Chef Dani created a spectacular dinner at the New World Manila Bay and Travelife Magazine is a proud partner of this completely sold-out two-night event.

GREAT COMPANY AT THE
DANI GARCIA DINNER
AT NEW WORLD MANILA BAY
My friend Mr. Z gallantly escorted me to this dinner, and to my left sat a lovely lady who has joined many of our Travelife trips. We’ve had dinners together in places as disparate as the riverside of Prague, the jungles of Sri Lanka and the deserts of Morocco.
At our table, too, were some of Manila’s best chefs, including Margarita Fores, Fernando Aracama and Jay Gamboa.
We had a wonderful evening, and I will write more about this later on.
REMEMBERING AN AMAZING DRIVE
THROUGH THE DESERT
For now, let me mention a very nice conversation I had with this lady on my left, a bonafide member of our Travelife family.
We were reminiscing about our last trip together. which was to Morocco with 35 friends, and how we’d driven quad bikes through the endless desert over an hour away from the outpost of Ourrzazate on one day in the outer edges of the Sahara desert.
