WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE OF LAS FALLAS?

The La Ofrenda, when the falleros offer their prayers and pay respect to the Virgen de los Desamparados, matron of Valencia, is a respectful celebration. It is a combination of tradition, color, and faith.

WHAT IS THE MOST INTERESTING PHOTO YOU’VE EVER TAKEN?

In Bolivia, we picked up a mother with her baby in the middle of the desert. Her husband threatened her so she decided to run away. After giving them candies and water, I took a photograph that I will always remember.

During a climbing expedition, we rescued two mountaineers from a crack in the mountain over 5,000 meters above sea level. It was a horrible two hours. My group saved their lives.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE OF LAS FALLAS?

The evening all the fallas went up in flames! It sounds a bit sad because the locals worked so hard on those magical creations, but it was also exciting because you could feel the energy of Valencia.

I was snorkeling in the “shark bay” of Koh Tao, Thailand and I swam across the territory of the triggerfishes. These apparently attack when you are in their zone. You’d think I would be more scared to meet a shark, but no, the triggerfish followed me everywhere. Once ashore, I jumped into the arms of a friend nearby and we took a beer at the beach bar. It was the best way to get over this experience.
