In September 2018, B Hotel Quezon City, managed by The Bellevue Hotels and Resorts, became pet-friendly. The boutique hotel then celebrated this milestone with a pet pageant, BQC Supawstar; they also introduced the first B Hotel Quezon City Supawstar, Pablo the Corgi.

The competition was positively accepted by the community and it has made its comeback with double the fun. On October 13, 2019, B Hotel Quezon City launched BQC Supawstar Season 2 along with the Pilipinas Pet Fashion Show. Adrianna brought home the 2019 Supawstar crown, along with some exciting gift items from Dunsk Kuhner; a pet mat from The Happy Bone; gift certificates from Paw Prints PH; a gift bag from Balance Pet Meals; a pet bed from Pillows and More; a pet carrier from B Hotel Quezon City; and a gift certificate for a 3-day, 2-night stay in a One-Bedroom Suite. And then Balto the Shih Tzu-Japanese Spitz mix for first runner-up, and Boogie the Shih Tzu for second runner-up.
The Pilipinas Pet Fashion Show
The Pilipinas Pet Fashion Show also makes its debut and pays homage to the Philippine culture with a Filipino fiesta theme. The panel of judges also included notable personalities: Manila Bullletin’s Animal Scene, Ms. Maxine Louise Lagman; celebrity and pageant queen stylist, Mr. Renante Oren Acosta; Lifestyle Editor and Co-founder of Scenezone Magazine and a Certified Fashionista, Mr. U – Ned Belleza Algabre; costume designer at Amazing Philippine Theatre, Mr. Jo Buzeta; ABS-CBN Talent, owner of Rosmar Pet Cage Restaurant, Ms. Rosemarie Peñamora Tan; and fashion designer, Mr. Olan Roque.
The grand winner, representing Oriental Mindoro’s Centurion Festival was Echoe the Chihuahua with fur dad, Charlie Dela Cruz. Coming in at second place was Bubbles the Chihuahua with fur dad, Rafael Feliciano representing San Mateo, Rizal’s Sto. Nino Festival. The third place went to Yuki the Pomeranian with fur dad, Eunicis Salem representing Pampanga’s Giant Lantern Festival.
Guest speakers also included Ms. Isay Halaba of Animal Kingdom Foundation, who talked about animal rights and rescues, and Dr. Maricelle Licuanan-Resurrecion, a Veterinary Surgeon at Mandaluyong Animal Care Dog and Cat Hospital, who also talked about the importance of controlling dog and cat population in improving the animal welfare situation in the Philippines.
