There are many new luxury hotels being opened by InterContinental Hotels & Resorts (IHG) in Europe and Asia this 2019. New luxury hotels are opening this year in France, Maldives, Japan, Australia and Thailand.

Each hotel or resort is a destination in its own right with a distinctive style and ambience.
InterContinental® Lyon – Hotel Dieu
InterContinental® Lyon – Hotel Dieu opened this June following a four-year restoration of the Grand Hôtel Dieu complex, one of Lyon’s most iconic buildings. This renovation marks the largest private transformation of a historic monument in France carried out to date.
Renowned interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel reimagined the building’s overall design. But he also maintained the original beauty and architecture of the building.

The result is a contemporary luxury design rooted in the history of Lyon. This ‘monastic yet sophisticated’ design was inspired by the history of the building and the desire for a destination hotel.
The grand dome of the,Grand Hôtel Dieu complex is spectacular. It is home to Le Dôme Bar. Hotel guests and locals can come together under its 32-meter high ceiling for all-day drinks and light bites.
InterContinental® Hayman Island Resort
Nestled in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, InterContinental® Hayman Island Resort opened after a spectacular refurbishment. The luxury resort is located on a 400-hectare private island in the Whitsunday Islands.

ANA InterContinental® Beppu Resort and Spa
ANA InterContinental® Beppu Resort and Spa combinines the famous hot springs of Japan and the glamour of the InterContinental® hotels. The resort has used local culture to influence its interiors.
Each room includes bamboo work by local artists in Beppu, spacious design, and natural materials for peace and relaxation. The resort has an indoor bath with open-air bathing where guests can enjoy the natural hot springs.
The resort will feature a luxury spa with unique treatments and a heated infinity pool with breathtaking views. The “Elements – Atelier & Bar” on the top floor will offer creative and seasonal dishes using quality local ingredients.
InterContinental® Maldives Maamunagau Resort
