Discovering Tori Amos and a reunion of our Sri Lanka group tonight

Yesterday afternoon, on my way back to work, I was editing an article in the car and listening to one of my favorite radio stations at the same time.

Then a beautiful song came on which I’d never heard of before.

For some reason, this song really made me think of someone in a rather sad way.

It’s a sad and honest song, and now I can’t stop playing it. I’m planning to download it this weekend and bring it to Africa on my iPod, next weekend.

But enough of being sentimental.

Today is for merrymaking, especially as I’m meeting a group of very fun friends for dinner.

One of our Travelife Sri Lanka groups is having a reunion dinner tonight, and I’m making a paella for the party.

All our Sri Lanka groups have been made up of fun people who are full of life and zest for the world.

We have been very lucky and privileged to get to know so many of our Travelife readers this way — and what wonderful people read Travelife Magazine, the leading travel & lifestyle publication.

This Travelife Sri Lanka group meeting tonight is composed of very like-minded people.

I knew about half the group at the outset of the trip; and I’d only met the remaining half in Sri Lanka.

But the group really jelled together and it became just like one big gang of friends traveling together. There was nonstop joking and ribbing all throughout our week in Sri Lanka, living a Travelife.

The result is that we all became very good friends.

And tonight, I am meeting everyone again, for what I’m sure will be another enjoyable Saturday night dinner in my never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
