Good morning from onboard IcelandAir on my way to Reykjavik from Copenhagen, living a #Travelife.
The flight is less than three hours but nevertheless it’s a very nice flight experience on Iceland Air, with a formal but friendly team, a good breakfast, full entertainment choices for such a short flight, and free WiFi onboard for business class passengers. #dreamflight
THE ICELAND AIR FLIGHT EXPERIENCE
Just as well that things are so nice up in the air onboard Iceland Air as Copenhagen airport this morning was complete chaos.
Just way too many people leaving on early morning flights from Copenhagen and too slow processing of everything.
We’d already checked in online last night so we took our sweet time getting to the airport, only to find a long line for luggage drop at the business class counter that was being manned by SAS on behalf of IcelandAir and other airlines.
LONG LINES FOR SECURITY CHECKS
AT COPENHAGEN AIRPORT
Still, that wasn’t as bad as the nightmare of a security line into the departure area. We were in line for over 30 minutes just to get to the security X-ray machines.
Finally, I had to talk to the officers and ask them to let us through as we risked missing our flight. And after that we ran a good 10 minutes across the airport to our boarding gate.
PEACE AND RELAXATION
When I finally got to my seat on the plane, I had to bite my tongue to keep from swearing as Copenhagen airport officials should really add more personnel or more lanes for security check.
SO MANY PEOPLE WERE LATE
FOR THEIR FLIGHTS THIS MORNING
Almost everyone around me in business class was late because of this and we all were suddenly friends with horror stories to tell.
Then our smiling stewardess came up to me with a shot of green juice that I really hoped had alcohol in it. It was 730 AM but I felt like a drink.
In fact, I said: “Give me two more of those.”
In the meantime, if you’re flying out of Copenhagen Airport at peak times this summer, make sure you get there at least three hours before. Or you will need a stiff drink before breakfast, even if you’re living a #Travelife.
