One of the best places to go for a weekend away from Manila is Brunei. This almost sounds like a joke, to fly to Brunei for a weekend. But it really does make sense to take business class on Royal Brunei Airlines for a stress-free weekend on the beautiful beaches of around Bandar Seri Begawan.
Actually, flying to Brunei from Manila for a weekend is a great idea. It’s often quicker to reach Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei, compared to going to many holiday destinations within driving distance from Manila. So there’s no unpredictable traffic on the road to keep you stuck somewhere for hours.
AIRPORTS IN MANILA AND BRUNEI
I take business class on the Royal Brunei Airlines flight for these weekend trips. The last time I did this weekend trip, the airline was using a small aircraft because it’s only a short distance between Manila and Brunei. Business class on this flight had two seats in each aisle for a total of four seats per row.
BUSINESS CLASS ON ROYAL BRUNEI
For business class, Royal Brunei Airlines had good inflight catering and entertainment on iPads. So the flight was very comfortable and I enjoyed delicious chicken rice on one route. Then before I knew it, we were already landing in Brunei.
BEST PLACE TO GO FOR A WEEKEND AWAY FROM MANILA
Once you are in Brunei. it’s all about nature. From the airport to our hotel, the wide avenue is lined with old trees that have never been damaged or cut down. It’s like being in a pretty and civilised jungle.
Instant nature immersion as soon as you leave the airport. So just seeing these trees makes you feel relaxed right away.
THE BEACHES OF BRUNEI
I also like the beaches of Brunei because the water is nice and there are only few people around. Some of the beaches are quite rocky and not ideal for swimming, but these are wonderful to take walks around in, or to have a picnic in.
The air is completely fresh, especially as the country is small and everywhere is near the sea. So you can see how easy it is to get recharged by flying business class to Brunei from Manila for a weekend without any hassles.
