The 27th PTAA TravelTour Expo launched its opening ceremony on February 6, 2020 at the SMX Convention Center. The opening day was a success and it promises a fruitful expo with event-exclusive deals. In fact, the 27th PTAA TravelTour Expo is the biggest edition yet; with over 400 exhibitors and operators ranging from travel agencies and cruise liners to hotels and resorts, as well as insurance companies to ensure the safety of travelers.
During his opening speech, PTAA President Jose Ma. Tuaño said, “As we work with the Tourism Promotions Board, we believe that the expo’s initiative is a vehicle to achieve the Department of Tourism’s target of 9.2 million international visitors this 2020. We hope our act helps make travel more accessible to Filipinos and we can push to change the stigma that travel is an exclusive, luxurious activity—but one that knows no limits.”
About the PTAA
The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) is an organization born out of a union of the national associations of outbound travel agencies and inbound tour operators in 1979. It was founded to foster unity in the travel industry and to promote the welfare of its members and the public. PTAA is a strong force that plays a vital role both in the national and international scenes.
PTAA, with more than 500 members, is the Philippines’ most prestigious association and recognized by international airlines, hotels, insurance, and cruise companies. It also works closely with government agencies, namely the Department of Tourism, Department of Foreign Affairs, Tourism Promotion Board, Bureau of Immigration, Ninoy Aquino International Airport, National Census and Statistics Office and various embassies and consulates.
