Orlando's new signature dish is the "Orlando's Honey Nougat Glace"


Orlando, the home of Disney theme parks and it's also the most visited destination in the United States, has a new must-taste experience: a signature dessert developed to showcase Orlando's culinary evolution and Orlando's connection with honey


The new signature dessert of Orlando is called
Orlando's Honey Nougat Glace

A destination-wide culinary competition was held in Orlando and it involved public voting as well as a celebrity panel of judges. The celebrity judges included two-time James Beard Award winner Chef Art Smith

The winning dish is called the “Orlando's Honey Nougat Glacé.” 

The Orlando's Honey Nougat Glace is an Italian meringue prepared with honey, nougat and fruit confit, on a red berries sorbet. This was created by Chef Catherine Delrieu of Mon Petit Cheri

Orlando's Honey Nougat Glacé stood out because you could really taste the honey,” said Chef Art Smith, one of the judges. “Yet it had this wonderful clean refreshing aftertaste – a total sweet honey bomb with a delicious tart fruit that soothes. 

Meanwhile, Chef Catherine Delrieu said: “I wanted to create something different and refreshing to showcase local honey, but with balanced flavors so that it does not become too overpowering with sweetness.”
