Two-Star Michelin Chef Drapeau set to dazzles palates at Les Arômes Festival 2017,

Lovers of good food and fine wine, now is the time to rejoice. 

Les Arômes Festival 2017Vietnam’s premier wine and food festival that features a slew of epicurean experiences ranging from expertly curated dinners to exclusive wine tastings and cheese degustation prepared by guest chefs from around the world, will soon be open. The festival will run from October 26 to December 7 and will be staged at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.

“The Metropole’s annual Les Arômes Festival is the premier culinary event in Vietnam,” says William J. Haandrikman, General Manager of the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. 

“This year, as with every year, we’re pulling out all the stops to provide guests with the best gastronomic experience, while celebrating fine food, wine and community," he continues. 

The 11th annual Les Arômes at the Metropole, kicks off at Le Beaulieu with a private dinner featuring French celebrity Chef Christophe Grilo.

On the other hand, an intimate five-course dinner by French chef Thierry Drapeau will the most anticipated event. Scheduled to take place at the elegant L’Orangerie on November 9, the whole dinner will be an expression of his cooking style called “food from Mother Earth." The cooking method was inspired by the seasonal produce of the Vendée, chef Drapeau's hometown, and further strengthened by his experiences at La Chabotterie, his the two Michelin-starred restaurant located in western France. 

Lucky for guests, they can also attend a second event that features more of Chef Drapeau's creations. On November 10, his take on authentic French fare can be enjoyed at Le Beaulieu. The special wine dinner will be a result of his joint effort with the Metropole’s Executive Sous Chef, Olivier Genique.

Metropole Hanoi Hosts Peruvian Chef Daniel Chavez at Les Arômes Festival 2017

A third guest chef, Chef Daniel Chavez of OLA Cocina del Mar Singapore, is also set to delight palates at the San Pellegrino dinner at Le Beaulieu on November 2. Originally from Peru, Peruvian-Spanish cuisine expert Chef Chavez trained under the legendary Catalan culinary great, Chef Santi Santamaria, at El Raco de Can Fabes, before going on to open Ossiano in Dubai and Santi in Singapore for Chef Santamaria.

In addition to delicious dinners, those who wish to sample France's finest wines will have the opportunity to do so on November 30. More than 14 esteemed estates in France’s largest wine growing region, including Château Beau-Séjour Bécot, Château Paveil de Luze, and Château Lanessan, are expected to take part. They can savour brilliant red and white wines at the Grand Crus Bordeaux Festival at L’Orangerie. 

On its last day, Les Arômes 2017 will conclude with a wine dinner at L’Orangerie featuring a selection of vintages from the renowned French winery, Andre Lurton, in Pessac-Léognan, the birthplace of the Grands Vins de Bordeaux.
