Culinary lovers flocked to the Sacred Valley in Peru this week as Inkaterra and Peruvian NGO, Mater Iniciativa, hosted the first “Momento Andes” event in Peru.
The foodie event, which took place from February 16 to19 at Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba, Moment Andes, the first event of its kind, brought together chefs, academics, artists, craftsmen, farmers and entrepreneurs for a series of workshops with the goal of enhancing understanding of the traditional Peruvian skills and how they relate to the South American food scene today.

ABOUT MOMENT ANDES BY VIRGILIO MARTINEZ
Moment Andes was the brainchild of world-renowned chef Virgilio Martínez of Central Restaurant (named Best Restaurant in Latin America, as well as 4th Best Restaurant in the World, by The World's 50 Best Restaurants).
It explored the unique diversity of Peruvian cuisine through its many ingredients, flavours and colours.
Martínez's work premiered during the event in the third season of Netflix series Chef's Table, on February 17, by the way.
