Korean flavours with a modern twist at Soban K-Town Grill, a new Korean restaurant in Eastwood Mall

Soban K-Town Grill is the newest Korean restaurant in Eastwood Mall, and it recently opened its first branch last May.

Named after the Korean term for “small tray or table,” Soban serves authentic Korean dishes—with a fresh, modern twist. It sets itself apart from other restaurants through its interesting cuisine combinations of Korean food creatively paired with Japanese, Mexican, Filipino, and even classic American dishes.

First time visitors should start off their Korean food adventure with Soban’s Japanese-inspired dish Beef Ramyeon, a steaming bowl of Korean ramen made with homemade fragrant bone marrow broth and beef strips.

Beef Korilog is their version of the famous Filipino tapsilog, a filling beef bulgogi meal that comes with kimchi fried rice topped with fried egg.

One of their best dishes that highlight their flair for fusion cuisine is the Korean Taco (or K-Taco), a soft flour tortilla filled with lettuce, kimchi, sour cream, cheese, and a selection of Korean-flavored barbecued meats such as spicy chicken, pork, or beef bulgogi.

HOME-MADE COFFEE ICE CREAM

Finally, end your meal with some homemade coffee ice cream called “Coffee Prince,” named after the 2007 Korean television drama. There are actually three flavors: coffee, vanilla, and cookies and cream.

If you can’t decide on just one, then have the Ice Cream Trio for a delightful combination of all three flavors. Better yet, indulge even further with a soft biscuit sandwich filled with red bean paste topped with coffee ice cream.

Despite having just opened a few months ago, Soban K-Town Grill has already created a buzz in Metro Manila’s food scene. With its extensively creative fusion menu, fun do-it-yourself style grill, coupled with its warm and friendly ambience, it will soon become one of the metro’s most popular Korean haunts.
