The beautiful Christmas markets of Prague, chosen as #1 best Christmas market destination in Europe for 2015

That's me just about to head out for dinner and a stroll through the main Christmas market of Prague in the town square, judged as the best Christmas market in Europe for 2015.

When I passed this mirror at my hotel, I realized I looked like a Russian from Imperial St. Petersburg. But better to look like a Cossack and keep warm, than to freeze in the middle of the town square.

BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

But when I'm in this part of the world, I do love my furs, just like many of the locals, especially in fashionable Vienna.

Prague, perhaps because of its former Communist history, is not as into furs as Vienna is, especially as Vienna turns into one big party city in the winter with balls and fancy dress parties every night, so fur coats are part of the daily uniform for winter.

PERFECT FOR EUROPEAN WINTER

But I was so glad I brought my fur collection -- sourced over the years from places as disparate as New York, Budapest and Athens -- as I was toasty warm for the Christmas markets yesterday, our first night in Prague.

Tonight was the perfect night for a Christmas markets stroll. It was freezing but bearably so, and everything was just simply beautiful.
