Shopping for foie gras and rare vintages of Tokaji wine in Budapest

At the food hall in Budapest today,
living a #Travelife....

Last-minute shopping today in Budapest for all the foods that are local here and hard to find elsewhere. Tokaji sweet wine, for instance, is pretty famous and available around the world.

However, the boutique producers and old vintages are quite rare outside of Eastern Europe these days, so we went hunting for things like these.

LOOKING FOR SPECIAL WINES

I got a few bottles of a fine producer of 1999 sweet wine, which made me very happy, while my friend got numbered bottles of a 2007 vintage.

The producer of the 2007 vintage only made 500 bottles.

Then we stuffed everything into our suitcases and checked out of the lovely Four Seasons Gresham Palace, Hungary's best hotel, and headed for Budapest airport to make it back home in time for Christmas and another chapter in my never-ending, and never-endingly eventful #Travelife.

Here are some of
the best Tokaji wine producers
in Hungary:

Oremus
Szepsy
Diznoko
Demeter Zoltan

Look out for these names when shopping for Tokaji wines.
