Getting ready for winter in Europe. And about the best Christmas markets in Eastern Europe.

Things have been terribly busy, back at home for just over a week, living a #Travelife. In between finishing work for the year and doing as much "spring cleaning" as possible, I'm packing my suitcases and preparing for the freezing cold in Eastern Europe.

Yes, I'm headed for Prague in a few days for a holiday of good eating and Christmas markets -- and to escape the terrible traffic at home in Asia for Christmas rush.

By this time next week, I'll be walking the Old Town Square in Prague with a cup of mulled wine, living a #Travelife...

PLANNING A WINTER HOLIDAY

My friends have left most of the planning to me so I've booked my favourite hotels in Prague and Budapest, and tables at the best restaurants in this part of the world. And in between we're going on a Christmas markets cruise on a ship I've been wanting to try for a while.

We're going on a very nice holiday halfway across the world, and then we're all jumping back on airplanes to catch flights that literally land back at home just before Christmas.

FINALIZING DETAILS OF A TRIP
TO EASTERN EUROPE,
AUSTRIA & GERMANY

I'd been so busy these past months that I hadn't really been able to sit down and go through the itinerary in detail, save for deciding on hotels, a boat, and some very good restaurants which need advanced booking.

But right after returning from Istanbul last week and getting rid of jet lag, I fleshed out the rest of our European holiday itinerary including hiring private guides, arranging airport transfers and listing up some must-visit places.

REMEMBERING A WINTER HOLIDAY
IN VIENNA

The Christmas markets of Eastern Europe, Germany and Austria are particularly famous.

Once I'd spent this same pre-Christmas time in Austria and we'd driven around looking at all the Christmas markets in the major cities.

We visited many Christmas markets on that long driving trip, but the Christmas market in front of Vienna's City Hall was really memorable, on that winter morning in a month of holidays in Austria some years back, living a never-ending, and never-endingly eventful #Travelife.
