Putting up the Christmas decor and about one week in Istanbul

So tonight, there I was at home at 7 PM, trying to have it all, and living a #Travelife. Yes, as my friends will tell you, I always want to have it all.

I had a Turkish Airlines 1030 PM flight out and at 7 PM I was still at home putting the finishing touches to my Christmas decor. I'd just arrived from Tokyo a few days ago and had plunged straight into work.

PUTTING UP THE CHRISTMAS DECOR

And today, while packing and doing last-minute errands and work, plus a massage this afternoon, I thought I'd put up the Christmas decor as well.

It's only one short week in Turkey this time around, but I'm planning to spend most of it chilling out by the Bosphorus.

NO MAPS OR GUIDEBOOKS FOR ISTANBUL

And, as I've been to Istanbul more times than I can count, I've decided to throw the maps and guidebooks away for this particular trip and discover the real streets of this beautiful city. No tourist sightseeing as I've done all that about a dozen times by now.

In fact, Istanbul is one of a handful of cities in this wonderful world that I can walk through with blindfolds.

THE BEST MUSEUMS, SHOPS & RESTAURANTS
IN ISTANBUL

Instead, I've outlined some cool boutiques to check out and some nice restaurants to try.

And of course a visit to some of my favourite museums, including the Istanbul Modern, and a couple of spa treatments thrown in, at some of Istanbul's most beautiful hotels.

In other words, it's a week in Istanbul, living a never-endingly eventful #Travelife.
