We had all the traditional favourites like XO46's kare-kare, laing and empanadas, but we also had some new dishes that were excellent as well.
I talked too much last night, so I actually forgot to taste the squid ink pancit which is new on the menu.
And thinking about it now is making me terribly hungry indeed. Now if only XO46 were open for breakfast...

COCKTAILS LAST SUNDAY
Our Travelife Morocco group had all already met last weekend at Sunday cocktails I hosted for everyone who was free. Almost everyone made it and it was non-stop laughing, joking and teasing from the first moment.
It's a very good omen indeed. And it's been this way ever since. We used to have long nights of conversations about Travel and Life in Sri Lanka, and also during our reunions. I don't think any of our reunions ever ended before midnight,
We're a large group of 35 friends and friends of friends traveling to Morocco in two weeks' time, but the core group is really composed of about 12 people who first traveled together to Sri Lanka several years ago.
REMEMBERING OUR TRAVELIFE TO SRI LANKA
The Sri Lanka trip was so enjoyable, and we ended up all becoming very good friends.
And since then most of us have done a #Travelife together to various places on earth including Northern Cape, Greece, Bahrain, Spain, Japan and a couple of other places.
However, we have never been 90% complete again until this Morocco trip.
#Travelife with us to Japan in May 2016.
We're visiting truly off-the-beaten track destinations.

MISSING TWO PEOPLE FROM OUR SRI LANKA GROUP
For this Morocco trip, almost everyone from that Sri Lanka group is going, and everyone has brought in other friends as well.
Only two people are missing from this Sri Lanka group, for Morocco. Those two people know who they are, and we will miss them so.
A BIRTHDAY PARTY IN MARRAKECH.
AND NEXT YEAR IT'S GOING TO BE A BIRTHDAY PARTY
IN ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN THE WORLD.
Otherwise, everyone is so psyched for this trip.
"See you in Casablanca," we said to each other, when we said goodbye last night. And that felt really good to say.
I'm heading out to Morocco ahead of everyone for a day or two of R&R and sleep before everyone arrives and the non-stop fun begins.
Someone is even flying in from the other side of the world just to be with me on my birthday, which I'm celebrating with everyone in one of the loveliest restaurants in Marrakech, living a never-ending, and never-endingly eventful #Travelife.
