This lunch was organized to meet the indie music group Walk The Moon, who had flown in from Tokyo the previous night for a serious of concerts at Ayala Malls.

CURIOSITY DIDN'T KILL THIS CAT
When I received the invitation last week, I showed it to my editorial staff who all got very excited at the prospect of getting up close and personal with the band members of Walk The Moon.
Being of another generation, perhaps, I had no idea who they were until yesterday. But my curiosity was sufficiently piqued so that I decided to join lunch.
On sale everywhere from this week.

MEETING THE BAND MEMBERS OF
WALK THE MOON
Travelife Managing Editor Ceia Ylagan wrote up our encounter yesterday with Walk The Moon:
"Ayala Malls brings Walk the Moon, a Cincinatti-based art-rock quarter led by lead singer and keyboardist Nicholas Patricca, bassist Kevin Ray, drummer Sean Waugaman, and guitarist Eli Maiman, to Manila in a series of mall shows on August 19 and 20.
GREATEST HITS OF
WALK THE MOON
Walk the Moon is known for hits such as “Shut Up and Dance,” “Aquaman,” and “Anna Sun.”
Talking is Hard, the band’s latest album, was created from six weeks of non-stop writing, inspired by a stay at a masonic lodge in Dayton, Kentucky where many other artists found solace and creative inspiration.
“It was kind of a magical place,” says Nick. “There were a lot of cool people like visual artists, graffiti artists...”

ABOUT TALKING IS HARD
It was well-worth the effort, as the band came up with fifty songs that they recorded in two months thereafter. On creating an album such as Talking Is Hard, “It was important for us to take the opportunity to say something that was important.”
“Shut Up and Dance,” the first single from Talking is Hard is a worldwide hit that is currently peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, with its music video nominated for the MTV Video Music Awards 2015 as “Best Rock Video.”
After regaling their fans and media friends at the presscon held at Fairmont Hotel with their unique and quirky dance moves, the band dished out advice to aspiring artists, encouraging them to make their music and create opportunities to have their music heard.
