Foul Madammas, a Middle Eastern bean soup for breakfast with chopped tomatoes, onions and cumin. At an airport lounge in the Middle East, on the way to London.

Good morning from the Middle East, on my way to London, living a #Travelife.

It's Ramadan season in this part of the world, so technically eating and drinking stops once the sun appears.

However, at the lounge of the airport, filled with passengers from all over the world who have arrived on early morning flights and are connecting to somewhere else in the world, it's business as usual.

NO STEAK AT THE AIRPORT TODAY

There's usually steak to order at this lounge and it's rather good, so I was actually looking forward to a steak breakfast after an overnight flight.

But when I looked at the menu, it was all breakfast stuff and I just didn't feel like having eggs today, even if they had eggs benedict with turkey bacon. This is the Middle East, after all, so no pork anywhere.

MY FAVOURITE MIDDLE EASTERN
BREAKFAST BEAN SOUP

Fortunately, they had my favourite Middle Eastern soup, which is a thick bean soup which is served at breakfast with some bread. I always have this for breakfast when I am in this part of the world.

The soup alone is okay, but it's the condiments that really give it the added punch.

I love heaping chopped tomatoes, onions and herbs on it, as well as putting lots of cumin and lime.

Not only is it absolutely delicious, but I'm hoping it will boost my immunity and keep me healthy on this new adventure in my never-ending, and never-endingly eventful #Travelife.
