Delicious Canadian beef for lunch today at the New World Makati

With the wife of the Ambassador of Canada today,
having lunch and living a #Travelife...

Today in Manila, living a #Travelife, I had a very enjoyable and delicious lunch at the New World Makati.

The Ambassador of Canada and his trade embassy officials, as well as representatives of the Canadian beef industry, hosted a wonderful lunch at the New World Makati's Glass House.

What a delicious meal this turned out to be.

A TRULY ENJOYABLE LUNCH

I sat at the table of the good Ambassador and his lovely wife Irene, who is among the most amazing linguists I have ever met, and New World Makati General Manager Farid Schoucair.

I don't usually have wine at lunch but today I just couldn't resist.

And I actually had three glasses of red wine because the Canadian wine they served went so well with the steaks.

ONLY HIMALAYAN PINK SALT
AND MUSTARD ON
THE CANADIAN BEEF STEAKS

Farid had said to me: "Don't put any sauce on the beef so you can really taste the flavour. Just add Himalayan salt and some mustard."

This is exactly what I did. And lunch was so good that I actually had three heaping servings of Canadian beef as well.

THE FLAVOR OF CANADIAN BEEF

What's Canadian beef like, you may be wondering, as we don't get it so easily (yet!) in this part of the world. Well, it's not as fatty as Japanese beef, and it's also not as meaty as South African beef, so it was a very delicious compromise.

I stayed way too long, talking about food and wine, including my recommendations for the best restaurants in Japan, and about a never-ending, and never-endingly eventful #Travelife.
