Tapas Night and cocktails to kick off Madrid Fusion Manila, at the Green Sun Hotel, last Saturday night

Last Saturday night, in Manila living a #Travelife, I headed over to the Green Sun Hotel just by the gate of Dasmarinas Village to attend Tapas Night, the kick-off cocktails for Madrid Fusion Manila 2015 organised by the Embassy of Spain.

THE BEST SPANISH CHEFS
IN THE PHILIPPINES

For this Tapas Night, seven of the best Spanish chefs based in the Philippines worked their magic and these were all served with delicious Spanish wines and liqueurs.

It was like hopping from one tapas bar to another -- just like in Spain, except this was all happening in one rather grand air-conditioned venue.

The chefs were:

Chef José Luis “Chele” Gonzalez and Chef Ivan Saiz
VASK Gallery and ArroZeria

Chef Juan Carlos de Terry
Terry´s

Chef Pepe López
Ramblas

Chef Carlos Garcia
The Black Pig

Chef Nicolas Diaz
Barcino

Chef Pablo López
Donosti

A MOST DELICIOUS VARIETY OF TAPAS

They prepared a selection of innovative and traditional tapas representing the best of the different culinary regions of Spain to a very appreciative crowd of wine and food lovers.

At the end of the evening, Juan Carlos de Terry served his original cocktail -- if I can actually call this delicious concoction a cocktail -- featuring Spanish cava with local caviar.

A FITTING VENUE

To top it off, the cool interiors of the Green Sun hotel were a most fitting backdrop to this very cool by invitation-only event, which is kicking off a week of good Spanish food and wine in Manila.

The events finish off with cocktails hosted by the Ambassador of Spain, and for me, a dinner with one of the visiting Michelin-starred chefs.

To do these last two events, I'm going to be jumping on two planes with only carry-on luggage,  which is very uncharacteristic of me.

And then I'm heading to the cocktails and then dinner straight from the airport, as always living a never-endingly eventful #Travelife.
