A cool Boomphone and about remembering great songs in a never-ending #Travelife

This week in Manila, living a #Travelife, someone gave me a Boomphone, which I thought was uber-cool.

It's basically a set of noise-free headphones with excellent sound quality, that can turn into a boombox with a flick of the wrist. How cool is that?

It's perfect for a never-ending #Travelife.

MEMORIES OF TOKYO
SEVERAL LIFETIMES AGO

This made me remember a couple of songs I've listened to on trips, and consequently forever associated with these trips. When I hear these songs, the trips come to mind automatically. Just like that.

On the way over to Manila from Tokyo last week, for instance, I heard "Dreams" by Van Halen on the sound system of Japan Airlines.

This immediately took me back to my college days in Tokyo, as this was the very song I was listening to, when I left Manila and a life I loved for a strange new city.

REMEMBERING HONG KONG
FROM SEVERAL LIFETIMES AGO

There was a time, too, when I associated the song "She Drives Me Crazy" by Fine Young Cannibals and an entire album by Rickie Lee Jones with Hong Kong, which I once used to listen to on someone's yacht as we cruised the islands.

But that was several lifetimes ago, and how apt that I'm headed for Hong Kong this weekend for my first pure fun, non-work visit in years.

And here are a couple of other songs forever tied to my never-ending #Travelife:
