The new business class seats from Tokyo to Manila on Japan Airlines today

Earlier today, on Japan Airlines from Tokyo to Manila, living a Travelife, I was surprised to find a new seat configuration in business class.

I'm not sure if this was a temporary change or if this is actually a new plane that Japan Airlines plans to fly between Manila and Tokyo, but it sure is nice.

So I certainly hope they keep this plane for this route.

A WIDER SEAT ON BUSINESS CLASS
BETWEEN JAPAN AND THE PHILIPPINES

If they keep this in the air, it will probably be the best seat between Japan and the Philippines.

For one thing, it's way wider than their configuration for business class on the old plane, although not quite as wide as the configuration for a long-haul plane.

So it's a narrower seat than that of a typical business class seat on a flight between Tokyo and Europe, but still very comfortable.

IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT A FLAT BED

It's also a flat bed, and this is the best part, for me.

One of the two JAL flights every day between Manila and Tokyo is an early morning one. I often take this, and this means getting up pretty early.

So I'm usually sleepy on the flight because of this schedule, but I can't really sleep soundly on a reclining seat.

With this new flat bed, I'm completely comfortable.

A JAPANESE LUNCH OUT OF TOKYO

The food and service on the JAL flight today was as good as ever.

I had the Japanese kaiseki menu as I figure you've just got to order the Japanese menu when you're flying a Japanese airline out of Tokyo or Osaka.

It's almost a no-fail choice in terms of taste and food quality.

A MUCH BETTER VIDEO MONITOR

Plus the video monitor is highly improved.

The monitor on this new plane yesterday is larger and of better quality than on the old plane.

It can be manuevered via a remote control and also via touch-screen, providing a very pleasant experience on just another flight in my never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
