The Holy Family in Egypt

Travelife Magazine General Manager Angelica Bayona just returned from an epic trip to Egypt.

Yes, Gel, who's been with Travelife since Day 1, has certainly been living a never-ending Travelife for years.

In the last four weeks alone, she's been all across Thailand and all across Egypt.

She sent in this report:

"Last month, I finally got the opportunity to visit one of the countries at the top of my bucket list, living a never-ending Travelife, of course.

Together with key members of the clergy from around the world, I visited Egypt to cover and commemorate the trip of the Holy Family and rekindle their journey by visiting the places associated with them, as well as the ancient monasteries that sheltered them for three years.

Egypt is the cradle of human civilization and it enjoys a focal geo-political position connecting Africa, Asia, and Europe through the Mediterranean Sea.

Its historical and distinctive identity, gleaned from a combination of the Pharoanic, the Greaeco-Roman, the Coptic Christian and the Islamic eras makes it one of the world’s most sought-after places to visit for its great historical sites and rich cultural heritage.

My journey began with a visit to the ancient pyramids, home of pharaohs long gone.

I also got to see the ancient Coptic churches, and this was a most wonderful opportunity to immerse myself in the rich history of these churches and of these monasteries where the Holy Family lived and stayed and enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Egyptian people.

Read more about my adventures and my never-ending Travelife in the upcoming December - January issue of Travelife Magazine, the leading travel and lifestyle publication."
