Delicious chicken rice for lunch at the Singapore Ambassador's residence

With Mrs. Maritess Pineda, Madame Mano Hirubalan of Singapore,
Madame Fortune Ledesma of Monaco,
and Madame Gracita Seiber of Switzerland

In Manila today, living a Travelife, I stopped work just before noon to head for the residence of the Ambassador of Singapore for a casual and relaxing lunch with the ladies of the diplomatic corps.

Madame Mano Hirubalan, wife of the Ambassador of Singapore, was the kind and generous hostess who put out a delicious spread of Singaporean delights, including chicken rice and laksa.

NICE TO SEE EVERYONE AGAIN

As I've been out of the country for most of this year, I was really happy to catch up with friends and see everyone again.

I was slightly late but I found a seat between the wives of the French Ambassador and the new Danish Ambassador, and the wives of the Swiss and Spanish Ambassadors.

We had a very merry time discussing Travel and Life, and all the must-visit places in the Philippines.

MOROCCO, COMING UP SOON

I also told them a little bit about my upcoming trip to Morocco, which I'm getting really psyched about. I was just there in June, so it's quite something to be returning to the same places in five months' time.

So I decided to make it more interesting for myself by booking a lot of spa treatments in Morocco.

I just booked what is perhaps one of the top two spas in Morocco for a hammam and massage just before the long flight back to Asia.

Then I've just emailed as well another spa to try and fit another set of treatments in, this time in a different city.

Most of this communication is taking place in French, by the way, as I find it's way quicker to get a response in Morocco if you send an email in French instead of English.

LUNCH AT THE BEST RESTAURANT
IN MARRAKECH

I also booked lunch at what is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Marrakech.

I'd badly wanted to go there last June, but the Travel Companion hadn't been keen so I'd let him book his choices instead.

REMEMBERING A REALLY NICE DINNER

We had lots of fun at his choices of restaurants in Morocco, though, and I especially enjoyed it when he took me to dinner at a fancy French restaurant called Crystal in Marrakech, where all we did was reminisce about life in Manila many years ago.

We also had a very nice Italian dinner on the terrace of the beautiful La Mammounia, with a view out onto the hotel's famous gardens.

But now I have a second chance to visit Marrakech in a matter of months, and this time, I get to go to my choice.

A SECOND LUNCH
AND FOUR SERVINGS OF CHICKEN RICE

The lunch at the residence of the Ambassador of Singapore today lasted for about two hours.

And then I decided to stay awhile and just spend time with the Singaporean Ambassador and his wife, after the other guests had gone.

I ended up having a second lunch which totalled four servings of chicken rice for lunch today, in Manila, living a never-ending, and never-endingly delicious Travelife.
