Italy's National Day at the Peninsula Manila last night

With Madame Agnes Roscigno and the Mr and Mrs Liboro
at the Peninsula last night

Last night I attended the cocktail party to celebrate Italy's National Day at the Peninsula Manila, hosted by Italian Ambassador Massimo Roscigno and his lovely wife Agnes.

It was my first time in a long time to attend a diplomatic event as I've basically been away since March on my never-ending Travelife.

SOMETIMES IT'S NICE TO BE HOME

Italy's celebration was very well-attended. And how nice it was to be home and to see friends again, after months of being away.

In fact, I stayed the entire time at the party, missing a wine event hosted by another ambassador at his home in Forbes Park in the process, as it was well past 9 PM when I finally left the Peninsula.

But that entire evening at the party, I never made it to the center of the room.

SO NICE TO SEE FRIENDS AGAIN

I never got to eat either.

My entire time was spent catching up with friends. At the end of the night I had about 15 lunches and 15 dinners booked for 15 days I actually don't have.

So many things, so many lovely people, and just way too little time in a never-ending Travelife.

MY NEXT FREE TIME IS NOVEMBER

I'm not kidding at all.

On the way home from the Peninsula, I tried to sort out the appointments I'd made tonight, double-checking this with a calendar on my phone.

And then I typed out an email on my Blackberry for one of my assistants who's going to be tasked with synchronizing my schedule with the assistants of the friends I'd met tonight.

I have something like four evenings free in the next 150 days, and my next block of real time available is at the end of November.

How's that for a truly never-endingly eventful Travelife?
