Second time around at Maropeng, one of South Africa's best museums

In South Africa today, living and loving a Travelife, we visited the Cradle of Humankind, just outside Johannesburg.

This is located about 40 kilometers away from Johannesburg.

This is an amazing complex and the highlights of this UNESCO World Heritage site are the Sterkfontein Caves and Maropeng.

Maropeng is one of South Africa's best museums.

This was my second visit to Maropeng in 18 months. When I was here the first time, even in my wildest dreams, I never thought I'd be back again so soon

SECOND TIME AROUND

On my very first visit to South Africa, you see, I'd chosen all our hotels and done the general travel route, but the Travel Companion had been in charge of our daily itinerary.

He contracted a private car and driver, and he'd included Maropeng in one marathon weekend of sightseeing in Johannesburg.

I remembered that long weekend in Johannesburg again today, walking through Maropeng once more.

It was only 18 months ago, after all, although sometimes it feels like eternity as I've been back to South Africa four times since then.

And the memory of that trip sure made me smile, even if it was really just another wonderful trip in my never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
