Extreme adventure trip to South Africa, March 2015

Last night, in Johannesburg living a Travelife, I had dinner with an industry contact who just happened to be in this city at the same time.

She lives in Cape Town and I'm all over the place, of course, so the chances of meeting up have been nil until yesterday here in Johannesburg.

She said to me yesterday: "All your emails are like "Hi from Paris" or "Good morning from Surabaya," or "Hello from Tokyo."

And yesterday we were actually staying in the same hotel, so it was more like "Hi from room 402."

DINNER WITH THE ENERGIZER BUNNY

This lady is the energizer bunny personified, so we had an incredibly fun and stimulating dinner together, full of ideas and way too much good food.

I've already told you how I'm staying at a hotel where the chef never listens to my orders. Instead he sends out tons of food that is so good I can't say no to anything.

A LOVELY AFTERNOON TEA

Well, yesterday, I had the most massive afternoon tea possible -- which you'll read about soon.

But because we'd stayed out in the gardens for about two hours, feasting on a table groaning with sweets and savoury treats, I was well-prepared to just have soup for dinner.

Unfortunately, I didn't even get a chance to see a menu or say anything to someone.

As soon as we sat down, the food started coming out and it was a very delicious three-course dinner, which we downed with a bottle of red wine that looked more like a bottle of beer.

WHERE WE'RE TAKING READERS NEXT
IN SOUTH AFRICA

Anyway, this friend and I started talking about all the amazing places to go to in Africa, and thanks to her I've just added several dozen more to my list.

Oh my goodness.

This really is a most wonderful world.

And, for a private trip, there are two cruises through more uncharted Africa than South Africa, that I really want to do when I can find an opening in my never-ending Travelife.

EXTREME ADVENTURES WITH TRAVELIFE

But our takeaway from last night is to do a joint project together early next year.

The Travelife Extreme Adventure Trip to South Africa, focusing on seven amazing adventure experiences that'll be difficult to do on your own.

These are the kind of experiences that people who have been there and done that will want to do, just for the fun of it, and for the pleasure of bragging rights to extreme experiences few people will ever have done.

ADVENTURES IN LUXURY, OF COURSE

Of course, it'll be pretty comfortable luxury all the way, as well.

So a combination of fine lodgings, good food, extreme adventures and, of course, excellent company. Extreme South Africa, the never-endingly eventful Travelife way. March 2015
