|This is before the facial, by the way....|
Today, in Macau living a Travelife, I had the signature caviar facial at the spa of the Crown Towers, in the City of Dreams complex.
It was my second day in a row at this spa.
Yesterday, I did a tuina massage just before a really big lunch at the Michelin-starred Jade Dragon restaurant. More on this lunch later....
On sale everywhere from April 15...
A FIVE-STAR SPA
My therapist was a Chinese lady, and she was just excellent. So I got inspired to try another treatment, just before heading out of Macau to make it to Manila for the weekend.
The Crown Spa, by the way, is rated five stars by Forbes. It's really very nice.
CRAZY ABOUT SPAS
If you read this blog regularly, you'll know I'm crazy about spas.
So I've been to some of the best spas in the world, and I've had some of the most mind-blowing treatments on the planet.
Apart from this time in Macau, some of the most interesting treatments I've had very recently, living a Travelife, include:
1) The ohashiatsu massage at The Residence in Zanzibar, Tanzania
2) The Rolling Sands massage at the Cape Grace in Cape Town, South Africa
3) The Kalahari Dessert facial at Tsuwalu Lodge in Northern Cape, South Africa
4) The Tres Banos treatment at The Farm at San Benito in the Philippines
THE LAKAN VILLA OF
THE FARM AT SAN BENITO
Yes, just before flying to Macau on Wednesday, I'd just spent three blissful days at The Farm at San Benito.
This is one of my favorite places in the world.
They've just opened their newest villa, called the Lakan Villa, and this is where I stayed.
More on this soon. But, for now, let me tell you that this Lakan Villa is definitely the most beautiful villa for rent in the Philippines right now. Wow.
PRAGUE, SEE YOU SOON.
Then next week, I'm off to the Czech Republic for a couple of days of spa. Again.
So when I say a spa is wonderful, I know what I'm talking about.
A BEAUTIFUL SPA
The infrastructure of the Crown Spa is really nice.
I especially liked the treatment rooms for day packages, which are spacious and simply beautiful.
The Crown Spa also has a full-service beauty salon, which I would have tried for a hair treatment as well, if only I had had time today.
But as I was due to fly out of Macau after lunch, I contented myself with the caviar facial.
WHAT'S IN A CAVIAR FACIAL
This signature treatment uses Pevonia products, which are very much based on natural ingredients.
The treatment itself started with a foot scrub, and then the actual session on the face followed the professional cleansing-toning-massage process.
A FACIAL MASK UNLIKE ANY OTHER
What I liked best was the mask, which was a deep cleansing and brightening mask that was applied over cotton gauze wet, and then it hardened in ten minutes.
This was similar to the mask I had a few months back during a facial at the Les Sources des Caudalie just outside Paris.
There are only two Les Sources des Caudalie spas in France: one is in Bordeaux, and the other is at the Les Etangs des Corots, a charming Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) property near Versailles.
I really like this type of mask, but not many spas offer it. And the result is always a really bright complexion.
Just in time for a nice weekend back in Manila, still living a never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
