I knew this yesterday because he’d sent over to my home a belated Christmas present.
This present turned out to be a great pair of Bose noise-canceling earphones for my iPad, iPod and computer.
I do listen to a lot of music while I’m writing on my computer so this gift is just perfect. These are also great for the airplane.

SUCH A COOL PRESENT
These are literally the best earphones I’ve ever had, especially since I’m not really an up-to-date techie, so I don't buy gadgets.
I'm the kind of person who uses the earphones that come with the iPod, without upgrading to something better.
But now I have these really cool earphones to use in my never-ending Travelife.
SPUR OF THE MOMENT INVITATION
Anyway, as I realized Mr. Jaded was back yesterday, on the spur of the moment I invited him to dinner with some other friends at my home last night.
Everyone downed lots of wine and talked way too much, and then went home at 2 AM.
It was lots of fun.
But last night, in between all the talk about politics, business, culture and a never-ending Travelife, Mr. Jaded also asked me: “Did you try the earphones?”
I hadn’t had the time.

A 9 AM TO 7 PM SCHEDULE.
OR MAKE THAT 9 AM TO 2 AM.
He’d sent the earphones over at lunchtime yesterday and I was at work the whole day, finishing the week up with a Travelife sales team meeting at a restaurant over sushi and cocktails.
We started at 5 PM and I was out the door at exactly 7 PM, leaving my team to finish off.
By then, there were already two friends sitting in my living room.
Fortunately, these two friends are comfortable enough to relax at my house even when I’m not around.
So they opened the bubbly they’d brought and they were drinking and admiring a spotted cow carpet I’d just brought back recently from South Africa, when I walked in.
TAKOUTS FOR DINNER
I’d invited friends to dinner yesterday, but with work and meetings all day, I just hadn’t had time to prepare anything but a peri-peri roast chicken.
So while we were having the Travelife sales meeting at a restaurant yesterday, I ordered sushi platters for our meeting and then just ordered a massive bunch of take-out dishes for dinner – and that was what I served everyone yesterday.
A LONG TALK OVER AFTERNOON TEA
Meanwhile, this afternoon, I met an old friend for tea, and we spent most of the time talking about one topic in particular.
At the end of it all, she said to me: “There’s this song you should hear. It’s called the “Best Thing I Never Had” and it’s by Beyonce."
She added: "Then there’s her other song. It’s called “Irreplaceable. Google it.”
TWO THINGS I DID TONIGHT
I can’t tell you why she asked me to listen to these two songs.
But tonight, when I finally got home from dinner, I did two things: I finally tried out Mr. Jaded’s really cool earphones, and then I looked up two of Beyonce’s songs and downloaded it.
I have to say: these Bose earphones are just amazing.
And tonight, there I was, trying out the best earphones I’ve ever had, pondering on the “Best Thing I Never Had.”
Simply Irreplaceable, as Beyonce herself would say.
Even in a never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
