Philosophy on a breakfast plate at Majeka House in South Africa's Stellenbosch region

That's me, signing the guest book at Majeka House last Thursday...

One morning in South Africa last week, living a Travelife, I went to breakfast and discovered all kinds of lovely bits of wisdom and humor on the breakfast plates.

"I kiss better than I cook..."
and "Don't quit you day dream..."

We were staying at the beautiful Majeka House in Stellenbosch, which is one of the most special places to stay in this region, in a very non-commercial way.

It's full of contemporary art and the owner's lifetime collection of pigs.

"You are not a drop in the ocean.
You are the entire ocean in a drop..."

It also has an excellent restaurant called Macaron, which is among the best restaurants in South Africa.

I'll write more about our wonderful dinner here in a separate entry....

This is right at heart of South Africa's food and wine country, and it's a perfectly situated and truly pretty and artsy boutique hotel in one of Stellenbosch's nicest neighborhoods.

IT'S ALL ABOUT STYLE

Tea and coffee are served in a very English way....

There are personal and very stylish details and touches everywhere, due mostly to the hands-on approach of the owners Lloyd and Karine van der Merwe, who also live in a lovely house just next door.

"Every day holds the possibility of a miracle..."

I was charmed right from the beginning, and especially when I saw my terribly spacious suite, which has an adjoining suite next to it, and these two rooms share a private swimming pool.

I'll write more about this lovely hotel in succeeding posts.

HUMOR FOR BREAKFAST

"Never be afraid to try something new..."

But for now, let me share with you some photos I took of the charming and whimsical breakfast plates that certainly put a smile on my face so early in the morning, on just another happy day in my never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
