A free concert featuring top Czech opera singer Noema Erba

Today was one of those hectic days, preparing for the many events of Travelife Magazine this October.

Talk about an unusually busy month, especially as we have the October–November 2013 issue of Travelife coming up, the launch of the new Travelife APP for South Africa, and  a two–week trip to Tanzania somewhere in between all of this as well.

But at 6 PM tonight, the Travelife Magazine team was complete in the office, music playing loudly and lots of jokes in the air, as we worked hard to close a pretty wonderful week.

Scroll down to read more. Last few days to buy our current issue...

We have three wonderful events this October, and we hope you can join us for some of these evenings of culture or comedy.

We are pleased to invite everyone to two free performances that Travelife Magazine is organizing this month in cooperation with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic and the Embassy of the Czech Republic.

First up is a wonderful concert of favorite opera songs by the very talented Czech opera singer Noema Erba. This will be on October 20 at the Dusit Thani Manila.

We organized a similar concert with the lovely Ms. Erba two years ago, and I can tell you that everyone who attended this concert was simply enthralled. Some were even in tears.

I was sitting in the front row, at the side, and someone near me had tears running down her face when Noema sang one particularly moving song about goodbyes.

This isn't hard–core opera, by the way. Rather, it's the type of opera performance that everyone can enjoy.

It's more of a recital of some of the greatest opera favorites of all time – most of them romantic, and everything hair-raisingly beautiful.

We had an SRO crowd for this concert two years ago, of over 500 people.

Many of them were Travelife Magazine readers and friends who had read about the concert in this blog.

So many of our Travelife readers and friends came up to me after the concert, to thank Travelife and the Embassy of the Czech Republic, of course, for this most wonderful opportunity and most enjoyable concert.

This concert is free – so please take advantage and join us. Bring your family and friends as well.

All you have to do is "like" the Travelife Facebook Fan Page and invite 10 friends to like the Travelife Facebook Fan Page as well.

Don't miss this wonderful concert if you like opera – or even if you don't know much about opera but would like to experience it somehow.

Or even if you are just looking for a nice way to spend an evening.

The last time I saw Noema was in Prague, just over a year ago.

She was kind enough to organize a private recital just for me and my friends, and this was held at the official residence of the Philippine Ambassador to the Czech Republic. The Philippine Ambassador prepared a sumptuous dinner as well, for us to enjoy afterwards.

An evening of music won't get any nicer than this – especially as it is all free, courtesy of Travelife Magazine and the Embassy of the Czech Republic.

This is music and culture at its best, and you will not regret it.

For tickets, please call Meg or Kat at Travelife Magazine.
