Today, there we were at the Tokyo American Club, spending a fairly pleasant afternoon and living a Travelife.
I'd gone on a short trip this week, but over the weekend I'd returned to Tokyo for two days to catch my flight back to Manila.
Yes, it's back home finally, and I can't wait.

A LUNCH TO SAY GOODBYE
To celebrate the end of a visit to Tokyo, I had lunch today at one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. It has one Michelin star and it's among the best deals in town.
I'll write more about this later, as it's really a shame to keep this to myself.
AFTERNOON TEA WITH FRIENDS
Then we moved on to the Tokyo American Club to meet up with some friends.
And it was here, while sitting at a long table having afternoon tea, that someone mentioned the Azabu Juban summer festival happening tonight.
FASHIONABLE AZABU JUBAN
Azabu Juban is a quirky but upscale and fashionable neighborhood favored by foreigners.
So a festival in this area -- which is great for a walk on any summer evening anyway -- always attracts locals and expatriates alike.
It was terribly crowded, but nevertheless lots of fun.
I hadn't been to a Japanese summer festival in ages, as I hardly spend time in Japan.
But this summer I was in Japan way longer than usual, but in all this time I never made it to Azabu Juban.
So the Azabu Juban festival was a good excuse for a walk around tonight.
THE BEAUTY OF THE YUKATA
So many women turned up in a yukata, which is the Japanese summer clothing of choice.
This was very nice to see on a summer evening.
As for me, I was wearing a very light denim dress I'd just bought the other day for my safari in Tanzania coming up soon.
The Travel Companion has just reminded me that we only have 15 kilos each on our eight safari charter flights -- and that includes hand luggage.
So I've had to buy a new wardrobe of ultra-light multi-purpose clothes.
I even bought a new computer yesterday -- the lightest powerful computer I could find, to take on those small planes.

Every restaurant in this trendy area was also open.
These restaurants were mostly selling bar food on sticks and drinks in plastic cups on the cheap.
Everyone ate, drank and was merry.
And so were we, in our never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
