FIRST MORNING IN JERUSALEM

On my first morning in Jerusalem last year, living a Travelife, I took a quick early morning walk after checking into my hotel.

I had some time before meeting my friends for lunch and I wanted a bit of exercise.

Besides, it was a gorgeous morning in Israel that was neither hot nor cold. It seemed almost a crime to just hang out at my hotel.

SHOPPING PARADISE IN JERUSALEM

Just my luck, I hit a pedestrian shopping street that sold everything from clothes and shoes, to religious artifacts, kitschy souvenirs and beauty products.

Israel is not exactly Grand Central Station for beauty products -- I would choose Japan or Korea as the top destination for beauty products shopping.

The Japanese and Koreans are simply fanatic about skin care and hair care.

THE DEAD SEA EDGE

I took this at 6 AM from my hotel room
on the banks of the Dead Sea.

But there is one kind of beauty product that Israel has a big edge over the rest of the world, and that's for beauty products and cosmetics that use Dead Sea minerals.

Only two countries in the world can manufacture Dead Sea products at the source: Israel and Jordan.

However, having been to both, I find that Israeli Dead Sea products are more sophisticated in development and packaging compared to the Dead Sea products found on the Jordanian side.

THERE GOES THE BUDGET...

So on that first morning in Israel, I basically blew my shopping budget on Dead Sea products -- simply because these are so hard to get elsewhere.

One of the most interesting products I found on this particular trip was a pretty high-end facial mask called Black Pearl Prestige G.

Black Pearl is the top of the line brand of a company called Sea of Spa that has product lines for every budget.

A CUT ABOVE THE REST

The Black Pearl line stands out from the rest, and so does its price.

But here's what sets the Black Pearl Prestige G Mask apart from practically any mask I've found anywhere else in the world: it's based on the power of gravity.

THE AMAZING BLACK PEARL PRESTIGE G MASK

This mask has Dea Sea minerals, along as minerals and ingredients found in many other mud beauty masks.

But something in the black mud of the Dead Sea -- combined with Israeli technology -- has helped create a mask that deep cleanses the skin, removes dead cells and minimizes pores.

You apply it the way you'd apply any other face mud mask.

A MAGNET COMES WITH THE MASK

But after seven minutes, you use a special magnet that comes with the package to remove the mask.

This is quite amazing because your face is covered entirely with black mud.

And then you see the mud particles lifting off as you move the magnet across your face without actually touching it.

Quite a first, even in a never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
