|Toasting to Bastille Day tonight at the Sofitel|
Tonight was one of the most enjoyable dinners in a pretty lucky Travelife of never-endingly enjoyable dinners.
I arrived this afternoon in Manila, via a series of flights on Thai Airways that included a red-eye from Colombo to Bangkok.
And in Manila tonight, living a Travelife, there were so many things happening.

SO MANY OPTIONS
There was a concert I was supposed to attend, and an invitation to a very grand birthday dinner of a famous personality.
It seems the whole world was invited to the latter, which is supposed to be going on all night until tomorrow morning, in a palatial estate about 90 minutes away from Manila.
Then I had an invitation from Sofitel GM Adam Laker and his lovely wife Belinda, to celebrate Bastille Day in advance via an intimate dinner.
I decided to accept Adam's invitation to dine at Sofitel.

I figured no one would miss me at the famous personality's grand birthday party, anyway.
Besides, apart from the fact that I wanted very much to catch up with Adam and Belinda, I really like small dinners where people can talk to each other instead of just engaging in cocktail party chatter.
SOMEONE'S LOOKING OUT FOR ME.
This dinner was perfect timing. I really needed a dinner like this, this week.
I can't write about what we talked about, but it certainly was so much fun. I laughed so much tonight.
We began with champagne and cocktails, and then went on for sushi and sashimi, and my favorite oysters.
For a main course, we of course had French food in honor of Bastille Day.
Then at about 9 PM, we went out into the swimming pool area of the Sofitel to watch some wonderful fireworks for Bastille Day that Adam had arranged for hotel guests.
A NEVER-ENDINGLY EVENTFUL 24 HOURS
It was quite surreal, actually, to think that I'd been in another al fresco place exactly 24 hours earlier, living a Travelife in Colombo's most romantic hotel.
I was also having dinner and watching fireworks in the distance, with the Indian Ocean in the foreground.

And then tonight, there I was just next to Manila Bay, having dinner and watching fireworks, on another evening in my never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
Surreal but nice. And what a jampacked 24 hours.
