Estate living in Tagaytay: who says you can't live in a vineyard in the Philippines?

Travelife Magazine Associate Editor Carlo Velasco heads for Tagaytay for a taste of the grand life. He sent in this entry from much cooler climes:

"Who says you can’t live in a vineyard in the Philippines?

Last April 25, Travelife Magazine, the leading travel and lifestyle publication, was invited to a preview of Megaworld Global Estate, Inc.’s pioneering concept of another “live, work, play, and learn” community.

Twin Lakes, the country’s very first vineyard resort is a 1,149 hectare property that stretches from Tagaytay, Cavite to Laurel, Batangas.

It's surrounded by a man-made lake and the breathtaking Taal Lake, thus, the name “Twin Lakes.”

The Twin Lakes property is divided into several components, with each area designed differently for specific purposes and residents’ needs.

The Vineyard community is the focal point of the property.

Inspired by wine producing regions of Spain, Italy and California’s Napa Valley, The Vineyard is a 174 hectare area which features a vineyard for fresh fruit picking and a chateau/winery where fine Philippine wines will be produced.

There will also be a hotel and resort, sports club, spa and shopping villages which will be open to both residents and visitors.

The Vineyard Residences, on the other hand, is the community’s residential condominium project featuring three towers of low-rise condominiums.

Aptly named Merlot, Chardonnay and Shiraz, each of the three buildings’ one- and two-bedroom units will have its own balcony and nature view.

Aside from the condominium buildings, residential villages are also being developed on the property, with houses and lots for sale.

Future residential themed developments will also rise featuring a wellness center and a retirement community with its own hospital.

A section of the property will accommodate farm lots with respective amenities.

Alongside these residential hubs will be the University Park especially allocated for schools and educational institutions.

There's also a Nature Park which will occupy 33% of the entire estate created for nature trails, nurseries, and outdoor activities such as hiking.

Commercial and retail hubs such as The Village and the Lakeshore Town Center are also being built , with more outlet stores, shopping centers, restaurants and fast food chains.

Designed as the next luxury premier residential and commercial hub in one of the country’s favourite tourist destinations, we can’t wait to see what else is in store for Twin Lakes, the newest development south of Manila.
