Flowers to say thank you, from anywhere in the world

I have a little secret.

When I'm invited to dinner at someone's home, or if I just want to say thank you for something or to make someone's day, I go online and order a bunch of flowers to be delivered to that person's home.

It's so easy and convenient that I find I'm doing it for almost any reason.

In fact, I'm typing this out now from the breakfast area of the best hotel in Bangkok, living a Travelife, and I've just ordered a dozen yellow roses for a couple of friends in Manila.

For delivery while I'm away on my Travelife to Sri Lanka from tomorrow.

If you're on a never-ending Travelife like me, there's never really any time to shop for gifts for anyone. When I'm abroad, I rarely shop as well, unless the people I'm with are real shoppers.

Or if I have some free time on a Trip, which is not too often, I'll cherrypick the best stores in the destination and see what's there.

THE BEST ZEBRA SKINS IN SOUTH AFRICA.
I THINK.

We were in South Africa last November for two weeks, for instance, and I think we only went shopping twice for about an hour each.

The rest of the time, we picked up stuff we found at souvenir stores along the way.

Fortunately, at one of the very few stores we managed to get into, we found two zebra skins at a relatively decent price. Not cheap, but not outrageously expensive. So we bought one each, and we're both happy with our purchases.

I just remembered this because a few days ago, my companion told me that we'd actually picked up zebra trophy skins -- meaning the best quality skins available -- on our trip.

I'd asked him: "Are they really?"

We'd seen one trophy skin in another store, and it had been way too expensive. Even for him.

The ones we'd bought were quite cheap in comparison, although still nothing to sneeze at.

He'd replied: "Mine was. I don't know about yours." Typical response from him, by the way.

TALK ABOUT CONVENIENCE.
GIFT-GIVING ANYTIME IN 24 HOURS.

Anyway, back to ordering flowers online.

Because I don't have time to shop for almost anything or anyone save for the occasional foray into the best local store in a destination, I like to send my friends flowers which I've ordered online.

Everyone likes to receive flowers, after all, and I usually order a dozen yellow or pink roses to be delivered to someone's home.

FOUR DOZEN ROSES LAST WEEK

In fact, last week, I had four sets delivered as thank you gifts for four dinner invitations last week. And just now, having a pot of ginger tea right by the Chao Praya at Bangkok's best hotel, I just went online again and ordered more flowers to say thank you for two invitations last weekend.

BACK TO "WORK"

And now it's back to work at my "office" in Bangkok, right by the Chao Praya, before my private market trip and cooking class with the hotel executive chef, a three-hour spa treatment, and a sunset cruise down the river.

Yes, tough job.

But someone's got to live a never-ending, and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
