The grand opening of Raffles and Fairmont hotels in Manila next month

This morning, on the way to work, I was on text with my old school friend who'd been to dinner at my house on Monday.

We'd talked all night about narcissism on Monday night, and she'd read my account of this very interesting evening in this blog. I'd posted this the following day.

She'd then sent me a message: "I read your blog on narcissism. So accurate! So cute! I'm sure if *** reads your blog, he'll know he's the one being referred to."

Lots of people are written about in this blog, because it's mostly just an account of what happens everyday in a never-endingly eventful Travelife, so it would be hard for anyone to pinpoint anyone else included here anonymously.

But even if this wasn't so, I didn't think *** would think we were talking about him anyway.

So I replied: "I don't think he realizes he's a narcissist. He just thinks he's perfect." Then I put a smiley face at the end.

This resulted in laughter on the other end. My friend replied: "Haha. That's the funniest thought..."

Then, earlier this week, an interesting looking leather box arrived at my office.

When I opened it, a cartoon-like illustration popped out, just like what you see in a children's book.

It turned out to be the very eye-catching invitation for the opening of the Raffles and Fairmont Hotels next month.

The opening certainly looks grand.

It's a long gown event and I'm sure everyone in Manila will be there to welcome the latest addition to Manila's burgeoning luxury hotel scene.
