Today, many of the Travelife Magazine readers and friends joining us on a Travelife to Sri Lanka in about ten days' time met up at the residence of the Ambassador of Sri Lanka for a tete-a-tete with H.E. Nawalage Bennett-Cooray and for an orientation on what to expect on an amazing Travelife.
Yes, as everyone who's gone on a Travelife with me will testify: a Travelife is seriously addicting....

A FANTASTIC GROUP
Prior to today, I knew about half of the people coming along to Sri Lanka, as they were either friends or readers who'd joined us on previous travels.
There were readers who'd been with us to Turkey, friends who'd joined us in the Czech Republic and Hokkaido, and another friend who's actually traveled with me already to Sri Lanka before.
But the remaining half were people I was meeting for the first time.
INGREDIENTS FOR SUCCESS
What a fun time we had today.
And to think this was just the orientation meeting. I so can't wait for the actual trip now. In fact, I'm so psyched because it's such a great mix of people. It's just like going on a Travelife with a whole group of friends.
|We're just different from everyone else.|
PASSIONATE ABOUT DISCOVERING THE WORLD
First. Everyone is really passionate about travel and quality travel experiences.
If you read Travelife and then read other travel magazines, you'll know the difference between us and everyone else. It's all about genuine heart and soul, and that's not easy to fake or to acquire overnight.
And that's how I feel about our readers. Travelife readers read Travelife because they're seriously interested in the world.
IT'S A REALLY SMALL WORLD
Second. Everyone at the meeting today ended up knowing everyone else, or knowing someone in between.
Talk about a small world. There was only one degree of separation between everyone, so the mood of the group was upbeat and excited from the very first second.
JOKES FROM THE 2nd MINUTE
AND PART 2 EVEN BEFORE PART 1'S BEGUN
In fact, everyone talked non-stop from minute one, and by minute two, there were already jokes and teasings being thrown across the room -- even between strangers.
And even before the meeting had ended, people were already talking about part two of a Travelife to another exotic destination. Same group. Different destination. Longer period.
Of course I also talked about Sri Lanka and what to expect. Eventually, one of them then said: "You're talking about Sri Lanka as if you live there."
Yes, Sri Lanka is one of those countries we know like the palm of our hand now. And everyone going along with us is going to get a very special experience.
OTHER TRAVELIFE TRIPS
Then someone asked: "Are you planning other trips?"
I said: "I'm going to take people to Japan this year. And maybe to South Africa."
One of the group said: "Wow. Makes you want to stop working and to just keep on traveling."
That's when one of the guys said: "And that's a Travelife for you."
Music to my ears. I smiled at him and said: "Thank you. Couldn't have said that better."
This trip to Sri Lanka is certainly going to be fun and amazing, even amidst a thousand trips in a never-ending and never-endingly eventful Travelife.
Wish you were coming along with us....
