The PHRS Volleyball Open in Boracay and the great victory party

Last month, an exciting and very enjoyable series of volleyball matches was held right on the beautiful white sands of Boracay with lots of hard-core competing and after-hours partying. Meg Caligner of Team TRAVELIFE sent in this report:

VOLLEYBALL FINALS RIGHT ON THE BEACH

"Last week, the Philippine Hotel Reservations Service (PHRS) invited the TRAVELIFE MAGAZINE team to the beautiful island of Boracay to witness  the 2nd PHRS Beach Volleyball Open, which is the largest volleyball event in the country.

It was truly a major competition as all the finest players in the country traveled to win the very first Philippine Beach Volleyball National Championship title.

JUST IN TIME FOR THE GRAND FINALS

We arrived on the second evening of the three-day tournament and went straight to the party at the Dejavu Resto Lounge in Station 2. It was a night filled with pure enjoyment as we partied with the PHRS team and with CEO and co-founder, Lila Marquez-Rosenberger.

Team Travelife and the PHRS team

Since we weren't able to watch and cheer for our favorite teams during the past two days of the competition, we woke up early on the third day with much excitement for the finals. It was the biggest and most anticipated day not just for the players and spectators but for the whole island as well.

It was a close and entertaining fight between Team ARMM Warriors from Tawi-Tawi and Team Cebu (Edward Ybanez and Jonrey Sasing). Team Cebu carried the Philippine Beach Volleybal National Championship title with a 15-12 match settling Team ARMM Warriors at the second place.

A GREAT VICTORY PARTY

After a whole day of soaking and screaming under sun, we all gathered for a grand victory party at Epic Bar. Free-flowing drinks delighted the players and partners for a truly unforgettable night. PHRS sure knows how to party hard and play harder."
