Hotel rooms for 10 pesos a night

Traveling has just become more affordable for budget travelers with Tune Hotels' latest promotion. They're offering rates of as low as 10 pesos a night for a hotel room in somewhere in the world.

Is it too good to be true? Nope, it's the real deal; and for a budget traveler who can plan well in advance, it's a pretty good bargain that'll be hard to beat even with bookings at online discount hotel websites. Basically you have the next 10 days or so to book a hotel stay for early next year. If that sounds like a reservation pretty far in advance, it most certainly is. But that's how you get the best rates anywhere.

MINIMAL COST, MINIMUM RISK

Frankly, I'd book a room anyway if I wanted to travel to one of the locations below on a budget -- who cares if I end up not going in the end for some reason? It's 10 pesos a night and, for that price, I'll happily take a chance and plan a trip somewhere in the future.

Tune Hotels, an Asian budget hotel chain, is offering the following pretty unbelievable room rates. Yes, you're reading everything correctly. There are no typos here...

THE PRICES FOR NEXT YEAR

For a one-night stay, they're offering rooms at these prices:
0.01 Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)
1,000 Indonesian Rupiah
10 Thai Baht
10 Philippine Pesos
35 British Pounds

This offer is available at 20 Tune hotels in five countries. The sale began yesterday, May 15, and ends on May 25, 2012 for stay periods from March 1 to May 31, 2013.

The countries included in the offer are Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and the UK.

WHERE YOU CAN BOOK

Participating Tune Hotels’ locations include Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Kota Damansara, Penang, Kulim, Kota Bharu, Danga Bay, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu, Kuta and Legian in Bali, Pasar Baru-Jakarta, Hatyai, Pattaya, Cebu City, Angeles City, Ermita, Makati, and Kings Cross-London in the UK.

CAREFREE TRAVEL

Mark Lankester, Tune Hotels Group CEO, said, “Our goal, from the day we started, was always to provide the most attractive opportunities for guests to move around the Asian region and potentially the world with a single hotel network. We want to provide consistent opportunities for our guests to focus on creating and enjoying experiences, rather than being concerned about the cost of accommodations."

Tune Hotels has successfully pioneered a branded value hotel brand with the concept of pay-as-you-use that has become hugely popular amongst travelers from across the world.

Under this concept, budget travelers only pay for room rates and then everything else is an add-on depending on how much someone is willing to pay. Amenities like towels, toiletries, air-conditioning, in-room Wifi and satellite TV service at selected hotels.
