Hong Kong Flower Show opens on March 16

In case you're headed for Hong Kong later this month, don't forget to catch the Hong Kong Flower Show that opens on March 16 in Victoria Park, Hong Kong.

The annual Hong Kong Flower Show is an exhibition that aims to promote horticulture and awareness of greening among Hong Kong citizens and tourists. The flower show attracts hundreds of participants each year as the exhibit showcases exquisite potted plants, floral arrangements and landscape displays.

This year’s show features the theme Floral Delights, with the hyacinth as its theme flower. Colorful orchids, Chinese cymbidium, potted plants, cactus and succulents, foliage and carnivorous plants, African violets, and bonsai-type plants will be on display.

Visitors can also take part in a series of educational and recreational activities, including a student drawing competition, photo competition, exhibit competition, music and cultural performances, floral art demonstrations, plant maintenance workshops, cookery demonstrations, green stalls, guided visits, recreation programs and fun games.

The exhibit will run from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily during the show period. Tickets are available at HKD 14 for adults and HKD 7 for students and people with disabilities. Admission is free for senior citizens aged 60 and above. Adults in a group of 30 persons or more will be admitted at a 50% discount.
