9 courses for Travelife Italy Night on Sep 8


Today I spent all day at the office doing the initial seating plan for Travelife Italy Night, a wonderful evening of gourmet food and fine wines organized together with Margarita Fores and the Embassy of Italy this Thursday, September 8, at 630 PM.

The seating plan, which involves so many VIPs, is a tedious Excel job; but fortunately it's something I actually like doing, as I enjoy matching guests up and trying to figure out who will click with who. I almost got cross-eyed doing this today, but fortunately some humor saved me. I'd been having a BBM conversation with my friend Marivic while I was doing the seat plan, and one particular comment she made really made me laugh out loud.

But thankfully, the seat plan's almost done save for the last-minute confirmations expected tomorrow.

FERRARIS, MASERATIS, VESPAS & FOOD

As for Travelife Italy Night itself, the evening will begin with cocktails and a beautifully-laid out appetizer table spread out amidst a vintage Ferrari, a vintage Maserati and Vespas. Then we'll proceed to dinner next door. Over 220 guests will partake of a nine-course dinner especially created by Margarita Fores with flowers and table decor reminiscent of autumn by Margarita's own Fiori di M.

The entertainment is a surprise; but I can tell you that it has been a true labor of love and creativity -- I just can't over-stress how much this event is a labor of love for us -- and something that's never been done in Manila.
