Taiwan: The Heart of Asia

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau (TTB) recently held its “Time for Taiwan – The Heart of Asia” 2011 press conference in Manila, Philippines at the Makati Shangri La Hotel. Mr. Tony Wu, Deputy Director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau, revealed the new logo of Taiwan Tourism symbolizing a totally new direction and branding for the whole Taiwan tourism industry. The new tourism initiative introduces 10 different tourism themes including ecotour, lifestyle tour, shopping, dining, and culture, among others. Each theme bears diverse routes and itineraries. The new heart-shaped logo represents the sincerity and commitment to welcoming all international tourists to Taiwan.

With the increased influx of Filipinos visiting Taiwan, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau recognizes the importance of the Philippine market and hope to tap its potential. In the next few months, TTB will introduce more tailored itenary and travel packages to Filipino travelers. “Taiwan is committed to welcome all Filipina travelers,” Mr. Wu said.

Taiwan is a beautiful island endowed with natural resources and cultural attractions. One of recommendations of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau is to take a ride on the Alishan Forest Railway to admire a breathtaking sunrise or take a trip to Yushan (Jade Mountain), one of the highest peaks in Asia. It is also a haven for endless shopping and gourmet hunts. Taiwan is targeted to be the new choice of travel destination for Filipinos.
